The Guild

The Knight Legion

Charging Knights' official guild members are represented by the Knight Legion: hand-selected community members who wish to formally represent CK online and in game. Each game chapter fields its own lineup of Legionnaires, backed by community bannermen.

The Knight Legion

  • Knight Commander

    The original Charging Knight.

The Knight Commander oversees CK's overall direction, leadership, community management, and the branches of the Knight Legion.

The Commander sets the final direction for CK, and the organisation is built to run through selected leadership rather than around a single person.

The Knight Commander is the founder and owner of everything Charging Knights related.

  • Knight Steward

A senior leadership post over the technical and staff side of CK's operations.

Working alongside the Knight Commander and the Knight Marshals, the Steward makes sure chapters have the resources, staff and structure they need. Marshals and Captains take the lead on community and guild leadership; the Steward keeps the day-to-day running of the community going and held to CK standards.

The work covers staff organisation, operational systems, server infrastructure, procedures, and projects that cross chapters. The Steward does not replace the authority of a chapter’s Marshal, and may work across chapters to identify needs, resolve operational problems, and keep CK organised to one standard.

The Steward may also entrust a trusted Captain with a small temporary project outside their usual chapter duties: an event, a community initiative, or anything else that falls outside a chapter’s normal scope.

  • Knight Marshal

CK's senior game-level leaders, with one Marshal to each game where CK keeps an official guild and community presence.

Like Stewards, Marshals work alongside the Knight Commander and hold the broader objectives.

Marshals are former Captains who have shown exceptional leadership, reliability and commitment to the community. They oversee their game’s members, events, activities and day-to-day operations, and they give direction and support to their chapter’s Captains so that local leadership stays aligned with CK’s standards and culture.

As senior leaders, Marshals carry CK’s direction into their game and bring the needs and concerns of their chapter back to the Commander. When the Commander is focused elsewhere, the Marshal is what keeps that part of CK led.

  • Knight Captain

The backbone of CK's day-to-day leadership, and the people who hold the culture in place.

Captains are hand-selected by the Knight Commander and their Knight Marshal. They are trusted core members who have shown they understand CK’s culture and can be trusted to keep it.

They assist with community management, moderation, events, member support, and the Legion’s recruitment. They review applications from prospective members and hold the standards that define CK.

The responsibilities are the same in every chapter, and the work is not. A Squad Captain may excel at in-game leadership and mechanics, while a Mordhau Captain’s voice carries during membership filtering behind the scenes, and a VRChat Captain may spend most of their time running events and moderating in game.

Being a Captain is about the trust senior leadership places in them. They lead by example, represent CK’s values, and hold a steady voice in their chapter and in the community.

  • Knight Legionnaire

CK's official guild and clan members.

Legionnaires have formally joined CK and chosen to represent the community in its official ranks. Within the Legion, members may belong to a specialised game chapter: the Noble Knights in Mordhau, the Corpsman Knights in Squad.

Those divisions have their own names, and every member of the Knight Legion is held to the same standard. Whatever game they play and whatever post they hold, Legionnaires represent CK with respect and class.

Being in the Knight Legion is more than wearing the tag. Legionnaires carry what CK stands for and keep the culture going. CK prides itself on how it comes across to everyone outside it, and the Legion is most of why that holds.

The Wider Community

  • Charging Knight

The Charging Knights are the wider CK community.

You do not have to be an official guild member to be part of CK. Charging Knights are the regulars, the friends, the newcomers and the community members who turn up to our events and make CK what it is.

Whether you are dropping in for one event, playing with us every week, or thinking about joining the Knight Legion, you are welcome here.

Charging Knights are welcome at every event, unless an event is set aside for the Legion.

Joining

How to Join
the Legion

Applications are always open. If you have not had an invitation to join the Knight Legion, ask any Knight Captain or higher and they will give you a short application.

The process is simple. The questions are basic, and they are there to filter out anyone who is not genuinely invested in CK.

Do not let the word application put you off.
